frequently asked questions

+ How can I get an invoice to submit to my institution?

You can reach out to us at info@nanfed.org to request an invoice.

+ I signed up for an institution membership. Is the password the same for everyone? Do I just share this with everyone?

Yes, the password given to you will be the same for everyone within your institution, so you are free to share it with your field colleagues. The password changes each January and is shared upon membership renewal.

+ I submitted a payment today for NANFED membership. How do I know if I have access to the repository??

Once you submit your New Member Form, you'll receive an email in about a week informing you that your membership has been processed. The email will also include your password to access the repository.

+ I submitted payment via Paypal, but my Paypal account used is under a different name.

If your name on the New Member Form doesn't match any of the recent Paypal payments, we'll reach out to you within one week for clarification as we finalize your membership processing. If you'd like to inform us before then, please email us at info@nanfed.org.

+ My institution requires a W-9 to submit payment. How can we obtain one?

You can reach out to us at info@nanfed.org to request a W-9.

+ Do I need a username to access repository?

No, usernames are not required. You'll only need your password to access the repository.

+ How do I renew annual dues?

You can renew membership on our Membership page by completing the "Become a Member" form again. We will check our membership list to determine if this is a new or renewal membership.

+ When does membership expire?

Memberships purchased before October 15th each year expire at the end of the current calendar year, regardless of when membership began. However, payment received after October 15th of any given year will give the member access to the document repository for the rest of that calendar year as well as the entire next year. Any individual or institution who purchases a membership after October 15th will automatically be sent the new password in the next calendar year, without having to renew your membership.

+ I am a field educator for an online/distance program and I live outside the state of the on-campus program. The institution has paid for membership, so do I have access as an online/out-of-state educator?

If your school has paid for an institutional membership, then you also have access to the document repository as a member of that institution. Simply ask the person who registered to share the password with you.

+ A school isn't listed with our consortium. How do we add it to the list on the website?

You can reach out to us at info@nanfed.org and we can make the requested changes.

+ Is there a NANFED listserv?

NANFED has a list serve of our members through the website. When you become a member, you are automatically added to this list serve. This is different from the CSWE field director list serve that any field director can join.

+ I want to join a consortium, but I'm not sure which one to join. How do I determine which one I should join?

Consortia are designed to be regional, with the exception of the Social Work and Distance Education consortia which is open to any person or institution who is interested in distance education. To find your regional consortium, go to the website at nanfed.org and find the area of the country that your state is in. If there is not an existing consortium for your area, you are free to create one and we are here to assist. Please email info@nanfed.org to be connected to the Board member who coordinates the regional consortia meetings.

+ I have a question that is not on this list. Who can I contact for support?

For any additional questions, please email us at info@nanfed.org and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
